Catch-up Bookkeeping in Cyprus

  • Behind on your bookkeeping? Asticrest helps Cyprus businesses bring earlier periods up to date by organising available records, recording missing transactions and reconciling bank accounts. We review the backlog and agree the scope and fee before starting.
  • We assist Cyprus registered companies and clients located in Cyprus from our Limassol office.

What catch-up bookkeeping involves

  • Recording sales, purchases, expenses and payments from the available supporting documents.
  • Organising historical records and reconciling ledger entries with bank statements.
  • Identifying missing information and unexplained transactions for you to clarify.
  • The work and timeline depend on transaction volume, the periods outstanding and the condition of the records.

Our catch-up bookkeeping process

  • Review the periods outstanding: tell us the last completed period, the backlog and your approximate transaction volume.
  • Identify missing documents: we review available records and explain what further information is needed.
  • Agree scope and fees: we agree the periods, work, fee and practical sequence before starting.
  • Complete the bookkeeping and raise unresolved queries: we work through the records and bank transactions, document outstanding questions and prepare the resulting information for your review.

What to provide

  • The dates of the last completed bookkeeping period and the periods requiring catch-up work.
  • Available bookkeeping records or exports, trial balance and opening balances.
  • Bank statements and payment records for the outstanding periods.
  • Sales invoices, supplier invoices, receipts and relevant supporting documents.
  • Details of missing records and transactions already being queried.
  • You do not need everything perfectly organised before contacting us. Explain what is available and what is missing so we can assess the work realistically.

Catch-up bookkeeping questions

Can you work on older bookkeeping records?

  • We can review earlier periods and assess the work required. Tell us which periods are outstanding and what records you have. The scope and achievable completion date depend on the records available and the volume of work.

What happens if documents are missing?

  • We identify gaps and ask you to obtain or clarify the supporting information. Missing documents or unresolved transactions can limit completion; we discuss those limitations and outstanding items with you.

How are catch-up bookkeeping fees agreed?

  • We review the periods outstanding, transaction volume, records available and reconciliation work required, then agree the scope and fee before starting. Any additional work is discussed separately.

Can we move to ongoing monthly bookkeeping afterwards?

  • Yes. Once the catch-up position has been reviewed, we can agree an ongoing monthly bookkeeping service, including how and when you provide records and how queries are resolved.

Filing and other responsibilities

  • Completion depends on the supporting records available and resolution of outstanding queries.
  • Tax returns, statutory financial statements, other filings and audit require separately agreed responsibilities. Catch-up bookkeeping alone does not complete or submit those items.
  • If a filing deadline has passed, contact the professional responsible for that filing to establish the current position and next steps.
  • If agreed, we make the resulting bookkeeping information available to your accountant or auditor.
